A cozy, plant-based twist on a classic comfort food! This vegan cheesy tuna casserole features Save Da Sea vegan tuna, blended into a rich, creamy sauce made with our Un-Brie-Lievable and Sharp Cheddar cashew cheese wedges.

Ingredients

225g Fusilli noodles or noodle of choice
-
2 packages of Save Da Sea Plant-based Tuna Salad

½ cup chopped onion
-
½ cup chopped crimini mushroom
-
½ cup chopped celery
-
1 cup frozen peas
-
Salt & Pepper to taste
-
1 Tablespoon olive oil
-
½ plant based milk of choice
-
½ - 1 cup reserved pasta water
-
1 Tablespoon Nuts For Cheese™ Salted Original Butter
-
½ cup breadcrumbs
-
1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Directions
Vegan Cheesy Tuna Casserole
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cook pasta according to package directions in salted water until just tender. Be sure to save 1 cup of pasta water when you drain.
While pasta cooks, chop your onion, mushrooms and celery.
Heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion, mushroom, and celery to the pan. Cook for 5 minutes.
To the sauteed veggies, add 1 wedge of Nuts For Cheese Un-Brie-Lievable, and ½ wedge of Nuts For Cheese Sharp Cheddar and melt down until creamy. Add reserved pasta water and plant-based milk until you get the desired creaminess/thickness of your sauce.
Add frozen peas to cheese sauce and stir to combine.
Remove from heat and add cooked pasta to your sauce. Add 2 packages of Save Da Sea plant based tuna salad and stir gently to combine.
Transfer to an oven safe baking dish (roughly 9 x 13- inch dish) and spread evenly.
Combine 1 tablespoon of melted Nuts For Cheese Salted Original Butter and ½ cup breadcrumbs. Sprinkle mixtre evenly on top of cassrole for a crispy finish!
Bake uncovered for 20-25 minuntes, until lightly golden and cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh parsely.
